Touch of Peace and Wellbeing
As a young person, I had a predisposition to helping people through massage, although I had no formal training. In my early thirties it made sense to pursue a professional career of massage therapy. In 1995, I attended and graduated from the Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy. After that, I passed the exam for National Certification in Massage Therapy. At the time it never occurred how fulfilled my heart would become in this profession learning about the wonders of the human body and administering care to people. Participating in bringing the body into balance, peace and healing through therapeutic massage is and was my vision from early 1995 when this journey began. There is no replacement for a naturally skilled touch, application of knowledge, study of anatomy/physiology, education, continuing education, and experience.
Over the years I've seen clients of all ages with varied needs, conditions or injuries, including athletes. It is my goal to utilize every aspect of skill and knowledge to accomplish the needs, restorative goals and assessment for each person in every session. While the art and practice of massage therapy is unique to each practitioner, the commitment of Massage Therapists remains the same for the health, safety and wellbeing of every client. Therefore, "doing no harm", constant assessing of skill level and dedication to working within our scope of practice are without doubt, foundational to every practitioner. I am proudly bound under the protective umbrella of Ethical Codes and Professional Practice Standards of the Massage Therapy Profession.
